Giving Food

Published: Mon, 05/01/17

Someone on the newsletter list emailed to ask why I have fifty tomato plants.  It's a good question.

I emailed her back to tell her I now have more than seventy plants and that I can the tomatoes, dry them, eat them and give them away.

"That's a lot of work," people say.

Well yes, I know that. I'm the one doing it!  But it's never occurred to me to stop.

I plant the tomatoes because they interest me. Different kinds, different colors, different flavors. I do like to gift people and gardening makes it easy to do.

I bring eggplant, tomatoes and basil by the hair salon for a gal who's crazy for eggplant Parmesan. I bring cucumbers for another gal in there; her sister likes them. If anyone comes over, I always invite them to help themselves to whatever they like.

I don't care what you take from my garden. It's not uncommon that I have fifty peppers hanging, ready to pick. Maybe twice that many.  If you don't pick stuff and take it home, I have to pick it and take it to people's homes... which I also do.

"Check your doorstep," I text. "I left you dinner out there."

You might compare me to one of those people who put up a huge Christmas display so that others might enjoy it.  It's a Jupiter thing.

People tell me I don't need a big garden. I tell them I do if I want to give food away. And I do want to give food away.

I don't want people to forget what a real tomato tastes like. And I do want people to be inspired so that one day they might plant a garden, or maybe one of their kids will do it. And you might say, "I knew this astrologer named Elsa. She always had a garden..."

Moon Jupiter. If I have food, I'm going to give you some. I just don't know any other way.

Reminder - Mercury will turn direct on Wednesday.  What a relief - Unusual Time!

Also, there is a full moon in Scorpio on May 10th. I love this thing!  Raw & Authentic.

Have a great day,

Elsa
